He left the Army in 1980. He then returned to Pembrokeshire and was employed as a radar operator/caretaker at the Royal Artillery Range at Manorbier, where he and his wife bred their beloved Flat-Coated Retrievers, and Peter’s joy was owning his two beloved Newfoundlands, Ben and Max.
After 24 years living on the Range, Peter took early retirement owing to a collapsed disc and suffered mobility problems for some time before his death with cancer.
The funeral took place at Parc Gwyn Crematorium, Narberth, on Friday, January 5. Many friends and neighbours, together with officers and colleagues that Peter had served and worked with, attended the service.
Bearers were Jonathon, James and William Roberts, Gareth and Richard Gwyther and Rob Hague.

Gaynor Price
Tenby
As previously reported, Gaynor Price passed away in Withybush Hospital on Monday, January 1.
The funeral service took place on Friday, January 19, at Holyrood and St. Teilo’s Catholic Church, where many family members and friends gathered together to celebrate Gaynor’s life.
Gaynor was born in Tenby in October 1941. Daughter of Patricia and Arthur Watson, she was a true Tenby girl, living here for her whole life. In 1957, she met the love of her life, Don, on the North Beach, and in 1960, they were married in the Catholic Church.
They were blessed with two children, Mark and Donna, of whom they were so proud. Gaynor and Don were happily married for 53 years; they were a team and with a positive outlook they overcame the challenges that life threw at them. They gave up many of their dreams and ambitions when Mark took ill with meningitis at the age of three and Gaynor devoted over 40 years of her life making sure that he led a fulfilling one.
Gaynor was loved by many around the town and within the ‘parent carer’ network. She had a beautiful heart, a beautiful mind and a beautiful spirit. She was always happy to help, she’d do a favour for anyone, she’d put everyone else’s needs before her own and she’d do it with a smile on her face. She would often be seen having a coffee, a chat and a laugh with friends in a local café or walking across the beach with the dog.
Gaynor loved the outdoor life, the sunshine, a day on the beach with her children and grandchildren, a swim in the sea, a walk across the headlands with Don or a drive out around the coast. She was always full of life and ready for another adventure.
At her funeral her daughter, Donna, expressed that she thought her mum was the strongest, bravest and most courageous and resilient person she knew. Not only had Gaynor coped with Mark’s illness and disability, and Don’s, but she had battled with her own - diabetes, myeloma and Parkinson’s - with very little fuss. As long as she had on her bright pink lipstick, which became her trademark, she was ready to face another day.
Gaynor was a devoted wife, a caring daughter, a loyal sister to Myrna, the best mum, a great mum-in-law to Matt and an awesome granny to Tom and Olivia. She was a kind and generous friend, a good neighbour, and an independent, beautiful lady. She will be sadly missed, but always loved by many.
