OAKWOOD Leisure Park is currently sponsoring the HTV weather reports.

This is the first time that Oakwood have sponsored HTV weather and both parties are delighted with the union.

David Prosser, director of sponsorship for Carlton and HTV, said: "Oakwood is an ideal client for taking advantage of sponsoring weather bulletins and sustaining a continuous presence throughout the spring and summer period. The new sponsorship rules also now allow Oakwood to show actual rides and events within the content of the credits. I am sure the association will prove to be a great success."

There is a one 10-second credit at the beginning of each forecast and a five-second credit at the end. The credits have been made with a wide variety of treatments to take account of different weather conditions and the different seasons.

Produced by Cardiff based company, 'fatboyfilms', the credits feature two local children, eight-year-old Rebecca Harvey and 10-year-old Chris Conway, who play wannabee weather presenters. Set in a wacky kitchen environment, the children, using various household props and fridge magnets, try to predict the outcome of the weather. From expanding heads to foghorn mouths, the kids and their reactions are as variable as the weather itself.

"Oakwood is synonymous with children, fun and laughter whatever the weather, hence the strapline, 'Come rain or shine, Oakwood's fine'," said Pamela Joseph, director of Blue Creative Development, the marketing company for Oakwood Leisure Ltd.

Oakwood will be sponsoring HTV weather until September.
