Unfortunately, Sunday's NPower Village Cup quarter-final between Cresselly and Oxford Downs was abandoned after 33 overs when Cresselly were in a comfortable position of being 150 for 6. Adam Chandler had scored 32 and Julian Arthur 18, before Ryan Lewis and Richard Harris had started to build a promising seventh wicket partnership. Lewis had warmed up by hitting three big sixes and with Harris at the crease to help him, the pair were set to take the Cresselly total to over 200 in the remaining seven overs. The experienced Steve Roberts took two wickets for the visitors, with Sam Larey, Wes Bartlett, Tim Hardy and Luke List picking up a wicket each. Cresselly will have to make the three-hour drive to Oxfordshire on Sunday (August 12) when the match will be re-played at Oxford Downs. A bus had been arranged to take players and supporters to Oxford Downs.
