Pembrokeshire's Diecast Model Collector's Club chose a novel venue for their latest get-together when they convened recently in the newly-restored Carew Cheriton Battle of Britain airfield Control Tower.
"We're honoured to be allowed to hold a meeting here," said chairman Colin Friend.
"Many of us are both aircraft and model transport collectors and, even though the space is a little cramped, we are still able to hold our monthly model concours."
This month's prize was won by Haydn Bateman from Sageston with a 1950s American forces International Harvester breakdown truck. Also attracting attention was a collection of very rare 1940s American cars assembled by author and journalist, Brian Harvey from Llanycefn.
The modellers' evening was brought up to date with progress on the further restoration of Carew Cheriton's wartime heritage, by site team member, Deric Brock, who said that he hoped the club members would visit the station again in the future.
The Diecast Club's regular meetings are normally held on the first Monday of the month in the clubhouse of Haverfordwest Cricket Club.
