Sir,
I ws incensed and disappointed to read your paragraph under the heading 'TV Appeal' (March 29) in which you publish the telephone number of a television researcher requesting both written and videotaped information about stag or hen parties in Tenby. Surely you don't publish all requests for information without weighing up whether or not this might be counter-productive?
We have had a lot of bad publicity over this issue in the past, and I am concerned that a supposedly responsible newspaper like the Tenby Observer is encouraging more of the same. If Tenby were indeed to become the 'stag and hen night capital of Great Britain', as quoted in your paragraph, then it would cease to be a popular holiday resort in the accepted sense of the word. If, as I believe, this is not what you really want, then please take care in publishing unnecessary requests of this nature, particularly if they come from media researchers, who are very unlikely to have Tenby's best interests at heart.

The appeal was from a reputable television company who say they are making a documentary which aims to look at some of the negative effects on tourism - Editor.
