Tenby and District Probus Club celebrated its 25th anniversary on Saturday with a special service in the town. The anniversary and remembrance service, entitled 'Probus Remembers', was the idea of the current president, Tony Webster, and was held at St. Johns Church. Club members and guests, including the Mayor of Tenby, Clr. John Griffiths, attended. Following a welcome from the minister, Rev. Nanette Lewis Head, the president addressed the congregation. "I am very pleased that you can be with us on this memorable day, the 25th anniversary of the formation of the Tenby and District Probus Club," he said. "There is a tinge of sadness as we remember fellow members and friends who have passed away," he continued. "It is with gratitude that we remember their contribution to the club and the way in which their efforts have benefited us all. So let us enjoy the day and look forward to the next 25 years in the hope that we can pass on the comradeship to future members." Following the service, members and guests retired to the large hall for a buffet lunch. In the hall, members had assembled an exhibition of photographs taken over the last 25 years. These included pictures of past presidents and club members taken during their many trips both abroad and in the UK. It was a nostalgic morning which brought back many memories. Thanks go to Rev. Lewis Head for conducting the service and providing such a warm welcome at St. Johns.
