A LOCAL Normandy veteran will be heading to France next week to take part in the 65th anniversary celebrations of the D-Day landings.
Chairman of the Pembrokeshire branch of the Normandy Veterans Association, Gordon Prime, of Jameston, will be attending the commemorative anniversary on Saturday, June 6, along with his two sons, Stephen and John.
The celebrations will be attended by a number of heads of state, including Prime Minister Gordon Brown and American President, Barrack Obama.
"It will be good to pay my respects to comrades that never came back and also meet up with some I haven't seen for years," said Gordon, who is pictured here in a photograph taken back in 1944.
