Nominations will be opening next month for Narberth's People Award.

As reported previously, the award would not be a pat on the back to a councillor or civil servant, but won by a child who cares for a disabled parent, a good neighbour, the forgotten soul or a genuinely nice person.

Voting boxes will be placed at the Post Office and the Health Centre, competition organiser Clr. Wynne Evans told a meeting of the town council on Tuesday night.

Anyone interested in putting someone forward is asked to submit a written application stating, in approximately 20 words, why they think the person is worthy of the award.

"So far, we have a good response, and we hope to have a lot of entries," added Clr. Evans, who hopes to have the voting boxes in place by the middle of April.
