Local charity fund-raisers the 'Evergreen Nomads' recently made a donation of £200 towards the new 'sensory room' opened this term at Greenhill School, Tenby.

A sensory room is basically for disabled children with learning difficulties, and the room is set up to help them relax between lessons.

The relaxation comes about from subdued lighting, consisting of bubble towers, dancing lights and fibre optic lighting. When one enters this room, one gets the immediate feeling of relaxation; it's like scuba diving in a tropical lagoon!

The sensory room is run by Joanna Mount, Paula May and Karen Vickery, who are specially trained in the teaching methods for children with learning difficulties, and the three of them are totally dedicated.

They are wish every success.

Back in July, the Nomads also organised a successful balloon race, with several of the balloons found scattered over various parts of the United Kingdom and afar.

After much deliberation, the Nomads decided that the overall winner was a young lady, namely Miss Aurora Vitols, granddaughter of John and Iris Griffiths, of Knowling Mead, Tenby.

Unfortunately, they could not present her winning shield personally, as she lives in Leicester, so John and Iris accepted the trophy on her behalf.
