Pembrokeshire County Council's director of highways and transportation has informed members of Tenby Town Council that there is no immediate intention to carry out works on the street's cobbled surfaces, which many councillors have deemed dangerous.

Clr. Mrs. Caroline Thomas recently told her fellow members that it was about time the county council looked at improving all the cobbled streets throughout Tenby, as some parts where the cobbles had separated needed to be made a bit safer.

At Tuesday night's meeting of the town council, the town clerk said that he had received a response on the matter from Mr. Ian Westley, the county council's director of highways and transportation, who said that the safety aspects of the cobbled streets were regularly reviewed and monitored, bu there was no plan to review the issue until after the enhancement scheme currently underway in the town was complete.
