Sir,
I wonder if the people of Tenby (population 5,880) know that there are (statistics found on the internet/web) approximately 45,000 students in Cardiff, 45,000 students in Bristol and 14,680 in Swansea (at the universities).
This equals nearly 100,000 students in South Wales and South Gloucestershire - but not one of them can enjoy the delights of a visit to Tenby or South Pembrokeshire on a Sunday for the day (a day return), possibly their only day off, by train, because there isn't a train that arrives in Tenby until after 3 pm!
Mayor of Tenby, business and tourist leaders, what can be done to improve and promote visiting Tenby by train? Is there the appetite to improve the status quo? A lobby, via Tenby council to get an earlier train service permanently (on a Sunday).
William Bennett Rogers,
Cardiff.
