The valuable work carried out in rural Pembrokeshire by Farm Crisis Network has been highlighted in the Senedd by Paul Davies AM.

The Preseli Pembrokeshire Assembly Member told Rural Affairs Minister Elin Jones of the important role carried out by the charity in providing support and advice for farmers.

"The organisation provides excellent support for farming families," Mr. Davies told the Senedd.

"It offers them support at difficult times. However, it is getting more difficult for such organisations to operate because of a lack of funding."

However, he was disappointed to be told that there was no more money available at present to fund their work.

"This is very disappointing to hear," said Mr. Davies. "Elin Jones acknowledged the important role these charities play, but it seems that Farm Crisis Network will have to rely on fund-raising to maintain their helpline.

"South Pembrokeshire AM Angela Burns and myself are now hoping to organise a reception in the Senedd to introduce other Assembly Members to the valuable work done by this organisation."
