John Loring (caretaker/ manager, St. Catherine’s Island) has presented a donation to Rhodri Evans (president of Tenby Rotary Club) in aid and support of the ongoing charitable work undertaken by the club.

John Loring stated: “The donation from the Fry Foundation Fund - St. Catherine’s Island Fort Project to the Tenby Rotary Club was in recognition of the club’s ongoing challenge in supporting a wide range of events, fundraising, local and international projects. The members of Tenby can often be seen in the community undertaking events and projects and we on the island wish them well for the future.”

Tenby Rotary Club raises funds in several ways, but the main events that take place annually in Tenby are two Summer Spectaculars in the harbour (weather permitting!), a Bonfire Night every November in association with and held at Tenby United Rugby Ground, a golf competition with Saundersfoot Rotary Club, and of course, the Christmas concert in St. Mary’s Church.

Monies are raised throughout the year from the Wishing Well on the north side, the telescopes dotted around Tenby and the blind box just outside the town walls on The Esplanade.

The principal benefits of being a member of the Tenby Rotary Club are to have fun whilst providing a necessary service to those in need.

In the process, you can enjoy the benefits of business networking, personal development, meeting new friends, hearing inspiring speakers, and experiencing that special sense of fulfilment that comes from achieving something really worthwhile.
