Pembrokeshire County Council have confirmed there has been no delay in starting an exciting new pilot scheme designed to enhance Tenby's walled town.

Although work in High Street will not begin until next week, the authority began setting up their work base at the Butts Field car park on Monday.

The project, which involves widening the footpath on the seaward side of High Street and resurfacing it with natural flagstones, is aimed towards creating a quality, relaxing environment which will improve accessibility and safety.

A temporary traffic restriction will close parts of High Street and Crackwell Street for short periods of time when necessary, while temporary traffic lights will be used at all other times.

The work, which will take around eight weeks to complete, will be finished by Easter.

The remainder of the enhancement scheme will then start after the summer.
