At a special meeting of Saundersfoot Community Council, members decided to set a precept of £38,000 for the year 2008/2009, the same as the last two years, resulting in a payment of £24.88 for a band D property.
Members once again decided to fund the New Year's Eve fireworks (£2,000) and to allocate £3,500 for donations to various organisations, including £350 to Saundersfoot Sports Club towards the Summer Carnival and £350 to Saundersfoot Festivities for the New Year's Day Swim.
Other projects planned for 2008/2009 were: Extra Christmas lighting £2,000; inspection of headstones at St. Issell's Cemetery £10,000; enhancement work in Sensory Gardens £3,000; extension of paths in cemetery £5,000; CCTV maintenance charge £1,750.
Members also decided to increase the fees for burials in St. Issell's cemetery by the rate of inflation.
It was anticipated that there would be a shortfall of £7,000 between income and expenditure for the year 2008/2009 and this would be funded from the council's reserves.
