Sir, Ref. 'Backs turned on young families'. Clr. Preston states (Observer, February 27) that many churches in Tenby have refused to accommodate the local playgroup. I wish to make it clear that St. Johns Church, on the corner of Warren Street, has received no approach from anyone on this matter. The hall at the church is in use several days of the week; as anyone reading our 'Gleanings' column would be aware. Local knowledge suggests that it is not only the use of a hall which is required, but also a substantial area of secure storage of the playgroup's toys and equipment. A 'back' cannot be turned until there has been a frontal approach.
