NFU Cymru is encouraging its members in the Carmarthen West and south Pembrokeshire constituency to attend a local hustings meeting with prospective Assembly Members from the main political parties on Tuesday, April 26, ahead of the National Assembly election in May.

Starting at 7.30 pm, the meeting will be held at Plas Hyfryd Hotel, Narberth. This meeting will be an opportunity for local farmers to quiz the prospective Assembly Members on their party’s rural and agricultural policies.

Pembrokeshire NFU Cymru chairman, Walter Simon, said: “The majority of farming issues are now determined by devolved Government so it is vital that all prospective AMs understand the issues affecting grassroots farmers. The prospective candidates have the opportunity to set out their stall and justify why they would be the best Assembly Member for Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire.

“Please encourage your friends and neighbours to come along to this meeting as it gives us the opportunity to test the awareness amongst the candidates of the main issues affecting our agricultural industry.”
