'Jesus Christ
SuperStar' update
Abi Marriott and Emma Griffiths, both Year 11 Media Studies students, write: 'The build-up of excitement is continually growing every day. Tickets will be on sale in early February from Mrs. Julia Barnes, the price of which will be announced later.
The long-awaited performance will be open for the public from February 24-27. Rehearsals are going well.
One of the directors of the Rock Opera, Mr. Rapi, says: "This show is rarely performed with a full orchestra, and I am very excited as we have a high quality of cast ranging from Year 7 (11-year-olds) to members of staff."

GENETIC ENGINEERING
The Pembrokeshire Darwin Science Festival continues apace with a public debate on Genetic Engineering at the Greenhill School in Tenby on Thursday, January 29, at 7.30 pm.
The motion in favour of the benefits of genetic engineering will be proposed by Professor Anthony Campbell. Educated at Pembroke College, Cambridge, Prof. Campbell moved to Cardiff in 1970, where he is now a Professor in Medical Biochemistry at the University of Wales College of Medicine.
A pioneer in the field of experimental strategies to study the chemistry of living cells, Prof. Campbell is an enthusiastic researcher and author of six books and over 200 scientific papers. He also won the Queen's Anniversary Award in 1988.
Prof. Campbell will be ably assisted in the debate by Year 13 biology student, Jennifer Varallo.
The motion will be opposed by well known local teacher, Mr. Peter Oeppen. With his tremendous reputation as a formidable bridge player, and as a proponent of the idea of Life Long learning, Mr. Oeppen was educated at London, Swansea and Aberystwyth Universities. He is currently putting the finishing touches to his doctorate and will undoubtedly put forward a clear and well reasoned opposition to the motion.
To this end, he will be supported by Year 13 science student, Matthew Bonnaud.
The debate will be conducted in the traditional manner, with Dr. Mike Brew and Mrs. Heather Henry maintaining good order.
The evening is a must for all Year 12 and 13 science students, but as a public debate, it will be open to all members of the public who enjoy a good argument.
Questions and comments will be invited from the floor.
