Josh Allen, of Year 7, is our maths learner of the month for October. Josh really enjoys every aspect in maths and gained 100 per cent in his recent test. Josh would like to thank Mr. Cox, of Tenby Junior School, 'who taught us that maths could be fun', also thank you to Mr. Williams, of Tenby Juniors, and Miss McQueen, Greenhill, for all their support.

The October learner of the month for science is Kelis Davis, Year 7. Kelis likes the experiments using the bunsen burner and learning how things work. Mr. Leigh says: "Kelis is always enthusiastic and motivated in class and has produced some outstanding class and homework." Last month, she completed a leaflet to show information about electricity. Kelis is inspired by David Attenborough, Charles Darwin and her dad. Kelis would like to thank all the science department at Greenhill and a special thank you to her dad.

HOMEWORK CLUB OUT OF HOURS LEARNING

Change of days available - now every Wednesday and Thursday from 3.30-4.30. Excellent way to catch up on school work - homework support, subject catch up, use of IT facilities. Clubs and activities. Sign up at reception for the free transport (up to 50 place) - drop off points around the catchment area: New Hedges, Saundersfoot, Kilgetty, Pentlepoir, Sageston, St. Florence, Gumfreston and Penally.

FRIENDS OF GREENHILL CHRISTMAS FAYRE

Come along to Greenhill School on Friday, November 23, 6-8 pm, Friends of Greenhill have planned a fun Christmas fayre, with various stalls and entertainment, Santa Grotto and of course mince pies, with hot chocolate or mulled wine. Hope to see you there.

Also, students are invited to bring a suitcase of goods to sell, pitch cost £5, again contact the school reception.

Design Technology, FOOD

Year 9 students have been completing their final practical assessment in DT Food. They were asked to design and make a birthday cake for a four-11-year-old (girl or boy). Miss Palmer would like to say 'well done!' to the current Year 9 groups as they have done a fantastic job in the designing and making project and she has been very impressed with the standard of quality products that have been completed.

CHRISTMAS DRAW

Tickets are now on sale for our annual draw. Prizes are £100, £50 and £25. Tickets should have come home with the students - if you need more, please contact the school reception on 840100. The draw will take place on Monday, December 3, in school. Return ticket stubs and money to Greenhill School. Any unsold tickets should be returned to school. Please encourage all family and friends to buy a ticket - excellent prizes. Look out for us selling tickets around town over the coming weekends.
