Jess enjoys PE which helps keep her fit and finds the theory interesting having recently gained an A* for her homework. Inspired by Jessica Ennis, our Jess gives her all in PE; Jess would like to thank Mrs. Morgan for her coaching, encouragement and support.
George Greenwood, of Year 8, Learner of the Month for science. Welsh language impact under investigation amid Carmarthenshire School closure plansDue to technical difficulties, we were unable to show 'Snow White and the Huntsman' as planned. Instead we watched a movie that is more complex and confusing - 'The Prestige'. Set in Victorian Britain, it shows behind the scenes of how 'magicians' conjure up illusions and glee. However, when an act goes wrong; it turns two performers into arch enemies. Simple competition turns into obsession, as the two men strive to beat each other, causing horrendous consequences. With trickery, a cunning storyline and star actors, it would be hard to find a movie of a higher prestige than this one.

We would also like to mention that three of our FILMCLUB attendees went to the Senedd to watch the short film 'Making A Difference' film that Josh Veale, one of our members, was involved in creating, having the opportunity to interview the First Minister Carwyn Jones about his favourite film and politics. Josh also got interviewed on BBC Radio Wales about young people's issues and other subjects. A big thank you to Mr Williams as well for his support.
Rebecca Evans, Assembly Member, and Elis Jones, an independent film maker, visited the FILMCLUB at school on Friday.
Following the success of Josh's interview and visit to the Senedd, Mrs. Evans volunteered to visit the school to discuss 'Forrest Gump', the film that she had cited as having a big impact on her interest in disability and equality and influenced her decision to go into politics. She was delighted with her visit and agreed to present prizes to our FILMCLUB members for their recent film reviews.
