Wow! We start our new year on a really positive note with brilliant exam successes. 2012 saw Greenhill's best ever A-Level and best ever GCSE results! Well done to all students and staff - especially well done to our maths department with a massive 15 per cent leap and 70 per cent of GCSE pupils gaining A*-C.

We also had unprecedented University success with every student who wanted to go to university, obtaining a place and four of our students going to Oxford or Cambridge. Well done and good luck to all on the next exciting stage of their education

Our school is looking different too; We now have new lighter windows on every stairwell and the refurbishment of the French and maths corridor with stunning new classrooms is almost complete.

Our uniform is looking great this year - thanks to our parents for all their support for the high standards we expect.

Things are looking good for Greenhill pupils as we go into our next academic year.

DROPPING OFF/

PICK-UP

Parents are reminded that they should not drive down to the reception/car park area to pick-up or drop off students at the start and end of the school day.

Please drop off/pick-up outside the school gates at Heywood Lane and Marsh Road pedestrian access. Students should not be using the vehicle access on Marsh Road into the staff car park area to enter school.

We appreciate that there is congestion on Heywood Lane but the blocking inside the playground is much worse and impacts on the school buses.

UPPER SCHOOL AWARDS EVENING

Our annual event to celebrate the achievements of our pupils in the upper school will take place on Wednesday, September 19. Letters should have been received by all the nominees and guests invited to attend. We look forward to a joyful evening of praise and applause.

OPEN EVENING

Wednesday, October 3: Come and join us the school will be open from 6 pm to visitors, especially junior school pupils and their parents. All departments within Greenhill School will have displays, activities and interactive presentations for visitors to take part in. Friends of Greenhill will have refreshments on hand, as well as competitions, second hand uniform sale and much more. Come along and see what our school has to offer you, your children and the community.

Please be aware that the school will be closing early and the buses will leave at 2.45 pm.

DOG FOULING

As we start a new school year, we once again appeal to those individuals who exercise their dogs on our playing fields. Please do not bring your dogs onto Ysgol Greenhill School playing fields. Our playing fields are in use every day over the autumn, spring and summer term and visitors during the school holidays and the health and safety issues caused by dog fouling have become a concern. Our pupils safety is of the upmost concern for all - please do not let this issue become a statistic of a child becoming seriously ill.
