Thank you to all who supported Friends of Greenhill by buying a ticket for their annual school draw. They have done really well this year and raised a total of £1,320, an amazing effort, thank you. The draw took place in school on Thursday by the Head Boy, Henry Whittaker, the Head Girl, Danielle Harries, along with the youngest pupil in the school Harri Thomas. The winner of the £100 was G. and C. Elliott, of Lamphey, £50 was K. Alejaga and the £25 was M. Sheldon, congratulations to each of them.
OXBRIDGE CANDIDATES
The sixth form were thrilled by the news that six present Year 13 students and one former student had been successful in gaining an interview at either Oxford University or Cambridge University. As the report is being completed, the students will be undergoing incredibly rigorous two or three day interviews at their desired college. Millie Belli applied to Brasenose College, Oxford, to study English literature, Mollie Staples to study politics, philosophy and economics at Magdalene College and Angharad Thomas at Mansfield College. At Cambridge, Lucinda Perrett has an interview for Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic at Christ's College, Alice Simon at Downing College for land economy and Constance Lesnianski for veterinary surgery at Queen's College. This is an incredible achievement and all of the staff and students applaud them and wish them the best of luck. In addition, Elizabeth Longster from last year's Year 13 has an interview at Mansfield College for Law.
FILM CLUB
Do you litter your language with the word 'dude'? Do you thrash on a guitar even though you can't play? Do you disrespect your parents' wishes in order to meet important historical figures?
If so you should have been at last week's film club to see the '80s comedy 'Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure'.
This excellent adventure is about two high school slackers who have to produce a history report to pass with flying colours or they get kicked out of school.
After being aided by citizens of the future, Bill and Ted have to retrieve historical greats like Napoleon Boneparte, Billy the Kid and Socrates with hilarious results.
It was greatly received by the audience and even after the epic adventure ended, I heard people talking about it, let's just hope that Bill and Ted's behaviour doesn't rub off on them!

Under 16 Cup Rugby Win!
On the evening of Tuesday, November 29, the Greenhill Under 16 rugby team played in the county final at Heywood Lane under floodlights.
The final was against Ysgol Preseli who the boys had never beaten, but on Tuesday night things were about to change.
Preseli opened the scoring with an early try, but from that point forward the Greenhill side dominated exchanges, with a phenomenal level of commitment and desire, scoring four unanswered tries in the process.
Well done to all players in Tuesday's squad on a tremendous achievement winning 24-7, resulting in Greenhill's first Under 16 Cup win for 16 years.
The boys will now enter the draw for the Welsh finals to be played after Christmas.
A special mention must go to Hen Vickery, of Tenby RFC, who genuinely worked miracles to get the game played at Heywood Lane, many thanks!
Squad: Kieran Machin, Oliver Taylor Bowen, Luke Conbeer, Elliot Williams, Aaron James, Jordan Assparasa, George Wilkins, Jerome Mansbridge, Matt Morris, Dan Allen, Aled Waters, Bronzac Burley, Andrew Barnard, Marcus Read, Ethan Morgan, Peter Lewis, Tom Prestwich, John Morris, Alex G. Thomas and Jim Brace.
Pembrokehire Urdd Swimming Gala
Nineteen Ysgol Greenhill students have competed in a very strong Urdd swimming gala. The students took part in some very competitive races. There were some notable performances, especially from Jonathan Orchard, Year 9, and Bethan Davie, Year 11. Both swimmers won both their individual events and will now represent the county in the national championship in January. Three other students also won their races and will be competing in Cardiff. Talia Merriman and Luke Dedonker, both Year 8, won their races, the backstroke. Kate Sloan for Year 10 won the breaststroke race. The school will also be represented in six relay races. Llongyfarchiadau a phob lwc.
