BASKETBALL

Greenhill Under 16s 46 Carmarthen 13: Tenby hosted Carmarthen at Tenby Leisure Centre on Thursday, February 12, having previously lost to them by six points.

Greenhill started very well, scoring freely through Joel Reed and Dean Pellington. The defence was superb, with Matthew Owen rebounding very well. This was Aled Smith's first game as point guard, due to David Dunfee's broken foot, and he took to it like a duck to water. Josh McMeniman was also a tower in defence and attack. The half-time score was 23-4.

After half-time, Jake Jenkins took on the point guard role and also did a very good job, while Kirk Lester played his part in defence.

Tenby continued to dominate the game and eventually ran out winners, 46-13. They played some of the best basketball of the season and were extremely pleased with the manner of the win.

FOOTBALL

In the recent Pembrokeshire Schools Festival, Greenhill's Year 7 and 8 A and B teams gave fantastic performances against strong teams from Milford and Pembroke.

The A squad were unfortunate in the group stages. However, they performed very well in the third and fourth place play-off, defeating Milford 2-1. Outstanding players were Jake Mahoney and George Wilkins.

The B squad showed their class throughout, defeating Milford and Pembroke with ease and outscoring both opponents by three goals to nil.

They faced a tougher test against their Greenhill counterparts, scraping through with a 1-0 victory.

The final proved a slightly tougher affair against a Pembroke side desperate for revenge.

Nonetheless, the young Greenhill outfit stuck to their guns and performed with skill and creativity, ending as champions with a 1-0 victory. Outstanding players were Dylan Rees and Charlie Gammer. Well done to all the boys!
