Danielle Harries - Dawnsio disgo unigol BL7-9, Lily Whitehurst 1af - strings solo BL7-9, Hannah Lowe - strings solo 10-13, Carys Bromby, Fay Brickell and Hannah Lowe - ensemble 15-25. The Greenhill Orchestra came second in their competition.

Llongyfarchiadau I bawb! Congratulations to all pupils who competed at last week's National Eisteddford. The overall standard was extremely high and the commitment and enthusiasm of all pupils was incredible. Special congratulations go to Lily Whitehurst (pictured) who was staged and awarded a first for her solo on the Viola. Competing in the Year 7-9 category, Lily of Year 7 at Greenhill was one of the youngest competitors within her group. The Welsh department would like to thank all parents for their help and support throughout the competition. Diolch yr fawr.

COUNTY SPORTS

The County Sports was held at Sir Thomas Picton School on Saturday, May 19, with over 80 Greenhill students taking part. The day was a great success with some excellent individual and team performances. The overall results were as follows: Final position, Greenhill - 3rd. Boys: Year 7 - 1st; Year 8 - 1st; Year 9 - 3rd; Year 10 - 2nd; Seniors - 3rd; 2nd overall. Girls: Year 7 - 3rd; Year 8 - 6th; Year 9 - 4th; Year 10 - 3rd; Seniors - 5th; 4th overall. Well done to all the competitors listed below, for their individual success and commitment and for their contribution to their year group and the Greenhill Team in general. Students who performed exceptionally well on the day included Matt Brown, Ben Griffiths, Tom Baker, Dan Gosnold, Marlon Fathers, Milea Williams, Samuel Jaakola, Jack Lear, Teague Galvin, Will Holmes, Will Thomas, Maisie John, Kristen Clarke, Lucy Morris, Abigail Markham, Sophie Thomas, Miranda Davies, Jessica Ryder and Lucy Neale. All students who came in the top three in their event have now qualified for the Dyfed Athletics Championships in Carmarthen, tomorrow (Saturday). All students shave been informed and have been given timetables. Good luck to them all.
