The annual presentation of Progress Files to Year 11 students took place last week at the De Valence. Mr. Noble welcomed parents and students and Mr. Gary Owen (head of Year 11) outlined some of the many successes and achievements of Year 11 students.

Well-known Tenby-born actor Charles Dale very kindly agreed to present the folders to the students; the school is grateful to him for making time in his very busy acting schedule to spend time with us. He spoke of his time in Greenhill and that the students were embarking on a very important time in their lives and that if they worked hard now, it would make their future easier; also not to give up on their dreams and plans and strive to fulfil them as he had. Mr. Dale was then presented with a commemorative plaque.

During the afternoon, very talented Year 11 students (joined by some equally talented sixth formers and one Year 8 student) entertained the packed hall. There was drama, dance, two excellent bands and a group of Irish dancers.

Thanks must be given to the students who not only volunteered to entertain, but also organised their own great performances. The students themselves made the afternoon such a success by working together and planning how they could help make it all run smoothly.

Five very smart young men acted as ushers, showing parents to their seats and doubling as stage crew, finally presenting Miss Trish Bailey with a bouquet to say thank you for all her hard work with them.

Miss Bailey will be leaving Greenhill at the end of the summer term and it was a fitting tribute to her that the afternoon was such a resounding success. The school would like to thank Charles Dale, the De Valance, Val's Café for the excellent buffet and Four Seasons, Tenby, for providing the wonderful floral displays.

BOCCIA TOURNAMENT

On Thursday, Greenhill School took part in a Boccia Tournament at the Meads Leisure Centre, Milford Haven. Two teams took part in the tournament, both doing extremely well. Greenhill B made it through to the semi-finals, but after a very close game against Milford School, they lost. Milford then went through to the finals where they played Greenhill A side. Greenhill went on to win this match after a tense extra round was played due to a tie-break situation. Both teams were awesome and should be really proud of themselves.

Teams: Greenhill A - Jade Absalom, Laura Bateman and Samantha; Greenhill B - David Sharland, Andrew Thomas and Jake Thomas.
