The last day of the Spring Term at Greenhill saw the departure of one of the school's longest-serving members of staff, ever: Mr. John Pattenden, one of the senior leadership team, who was respected and esteemed by the many thousands of students, governors and staff who have passed through the doors of Greenhill during his 38 years plus involvement with the school. His tenure at Greenhill was unique and he will be greatly missed, for his humanity, tolerance, caring nature and his precise personality. John is pictured at the lectern during his final day of assemblies where he reflected on his time at Greenhill and mentioned how much he would miss school life. The headmaster also said a few words, remarking on his long and remarkable career, and the students gave loud and appreciative responses. Also pictured are head of Year 7, Heather Henry, presenting John Pattenden and his wife Ann with a Graham Hadlow original painting on behalf of the Year 7 students. Enjoy your retirement from all at Greenhill, past and present.
