Year 9 Hockey Tournament
Greenhill 4 St Davids 0: Both teams played well, but Tenby had the better game. St. Davids had a good midfield and defence, which made it hard for Tenby. The goals were scored by Sophie John, Sofie Rees and Tara Evans getting two goals. Sir Thomas Picton 0 Greenhill 0: Sir Thomas Picton had a very good team with some good players. Sir Thomas Picton had strong forwards and very strong defence. Both teams were unable to score, but applied an equal amount of pressure. Our goalie Jodie had a hard start to the match, saving shots that were coming from everywhere. Pembroke 0 Greenhill 4: This was our last game of the day, which we needed to win to get into the final. We were under a lot of pressure. The whole squad were very determined to win this match, so we put 110 per cent into this game. Pembroke are a very strong team, but Tenby came out on top with goals from Sofie, Tara, Amy Bailey and Sophie John. The Final: We met Tasker Milward in the final and knew it was going to be a very tough contest. It was! Taskers are a very strong team and had some outstanding players. They took the lead in the first five minutes, then Greenhill fought their way back, but unfortunately were unable to score any goals; it was not our day. Greenhill finished second in the county - well done Tenby!
