Careers Opportunities 2003
Last Wednesday, all students in Year 11 had the opportunity to travel to Withybush Showground to meet and talk with representatives of employers, colleges, universities and training providers.
All students who took advantage of this very informative event went home loaded with literature and with a lot of questions answered by the providers.
Thanks to Careers Opportunities who funded the event and also to Ms Bailey who co-ordinated the details at this end.
TEAMBUILDING DAY
A recent visit to Pembrokeshire Water Sports proved to be a great success for Year 10 students involved in the XL Network programme.
In two teams, the 14 students from Greenhill spent the morning designing and building a raft using only four air barrels, rope and wood.
Later in the day they had to race each other on the Cleddau River. The winning raft, captained by Mrs. Judi Simpson, proved to have the better design, as well as fewer crew!
The team exercise was indeed a successful one. Other team activities included constructing two structures that could hold the entire group one metre off the ground, building a rope bridge and using the indoor climbing wall.
Tammy Dibble (school based youth worker) would like to thank the instructors for their support and assistance, and the students, Mrs. Simpson and Ms. Hamer for their great teamwork and good behaviour. Well done to them all.
