On Thursday, October 16, Professor Tony Campbell, of the Pembrokeshire Darwin Society, visited Greenhill School to talk to the A Level Biology students. He presented his lecture on DNA and Genetic Engineering, as both these concepts form the core of one main AS module, and the students benefited from his excellent and enthusiastic lecture.

Jessica Ormonde proposed the vote of thanks on behalf of all of the students. Selected students from Years 10 and 11 were also invited to attend.

The school would like to thank Professor Campbell and also Dr. Mike Brew, who represented Greenhill governors.

Lower School

Prize Day

On the evening of Thursday, October 9, more than 100 pupils in the current Years 8, 9 and 10 were presented with prizes in recognition of their good work and progress during the past academic year.

This new enterprise was very successful indeed and grateful thanks are extended to Dr. Mike Brew, chairman of the governors, who very kindly presented the prizes to the very deserving students.

For a long time it has been felt that students in the Lower School should be rewarded for their good work and hopefully this will now be an annual event.

Thanks go to everyone involved in its organisation, especially to the canteen staff who provided refreshments.

The generosity of the prizes, particularly the new Mayhew Family's Cup for Lower School Science, is very much appreciated. Well done everyone !
