DRAMA COMPETITION

Groups of players from lower school have been rehearsing at every single opportunity for the annual drama competition which will take place next Friday, June 22. The plays will be judged by Miss Rees and Mr. Rapi, before the successful team of actors tour the local primary schools to act out their play.

CREATIVE ARTS

Concert at the De Valence Pavilion, Tenby: Supporters of Greenhill Orchestra have been busy helping Mr. Rapi organise a concert, to include the Schoolís Orchestra and Jazz Band and which will also feature Tenby Male Voice Choir on Friday, June 29.

Tickets can be obtained from the Creative Arts Department at the school, Dales Music Shop and members of SOGO, priced at £4 and concessionary tickets at £3. You can also pay on the door, priced at £5, and £4 concessionary.

The promise of a pleasant evening's entertainment awaits.

Chamber Orchestra visit to San Francisco: There is one last chance to hear the Chamber Orchestra play their programme before their impending visit to San Francisco. Come along to St. Mary's Church, Tenby, on Monday, July 2, at 8 pm, and share in Mozart's music and the orchestra's fine interpretation of it. Ambassadors worthy of the musical talent in Tenby: come and hear for yourself!

GOVERNMENT

AND POLITICS

Now that the frenzy of the local and national elections have died down, we can turn to our own election at Greenhill School.

Members of Mr. Broome's Year 12 Government and Politics class campaigned to Year 10 pupils, promoting party policies. A complex computer voting system was devised by Luc Jenkins, and succeeded in polling all results.

Almost as confidential as the national event, all we know of the result so far is that the Liberal Democrats romped home with over 50 per cent of the total votes. The complete set of results will appear in a forthcoming edition of Newyddion Greenhill News. Watch this space !

NEW INTAKE EVNING

Next Monday, June 18, our new students and their parents are warmly invited to the school for our annual New Intake Evening. This is an invaluable opportunity for the students who will join in September to have a look around the school, meet their new teachers, and perhaps meet some of their new friends during the course of the evening.

Mr Chris Noble, the headmaster, will begin the evening at 7 pm with a talk in the Main Hall, which will be followed by an opportunity for students and parents to have a look around the school. Uniform suppliers will also be on hand with examples of their stock.

We look forward to meeting both our new students and their parents.
