The Pembrokeshire Schools Athletics Championship took place at Sir Thomas Picton School on Saturday. The Greenhill School entered the following girls teams and the event and position they came is as follows:
Sub Junior Girls: Clare Thompson (100m: 5th, 200m: 6th); Teresa Keights (800m: 1st); Daniella Etheridge (800m: 5th); Rachel Canning (Long Jump: 1st, Hurdles: 3rd); Sophie Davies; Sophie Merriman (High Jump: 6th); Emilie Osborne (Long Jump: 4th); Nicola Jackson (Shot: 3rd).
Relay: Clare Thompson, Sophie Davies, Rachel Canning, Sophie Merriman (4th).
Sub Junior Girls came 4th overall.
Junior Girls 2: Kelly Furlong (100m: 3rd); Chloe Laing (800m: 1st); Amy John (1500m: 4th); Stephanie James (Long Jump: 1st); Nina Parker (High Jump: 4th); Chloe Laing (High Jump); Stephanie James (Long Jump: 2nd); Phoebe Osborne (Javelin: 2nd); Stephanie James (Discus: 3rd); Libby Roberts (Shot: 4th).

Junior Girls 2 came 2nd overall in their section.

Junior Girls 3 came 3rd overall in their section.
Middle Girls: Sam Nicholas (100m: 2nd); Selina Morgan (200m: 4th & 800m: 1st); Amanda Owen (300m: 2nd); Imelde Rossi (1500m: 3rd); Miriam Brown (3000m: 3rd); Lucy Medwell (80m & 300m Hurdles: 3rd in both); Sam Nicholas (High Jump: 1st); Sally Maher (Long Jump: 4th); Lucy Medwell (Triple Jump: 4th); Selina Morgan (Pole Vault: 4th); Imelde Rossi (Javelin: 2nd); Christine Toy (Discus: 4th); Amanda Owen (Shot: 3rd); Sam Jenkins (Shot: 4th); Miriam Brown (Hammer: 3rd).

The Senior Girls came 1st in their section, bringing a cup back to Greenhill. Well done girls !
All events were well covered. The overall results at the end of the day put Greenhill in second place out of the eight schools, only missing out on first place to Sir Thomas Picton by two points. Well done to all the athletes who took part !

The PE Department would like to thank all the staff who gave up their time to coach the students, and for their support on the day itself.
Tennis
On Monday, the Senior Girls team participated in the Senior British Cup for Girls, playing the current Welsh champions from Bassaleg School, Newport. Sian Bennett, Sophie Beynon, Anna Joseph and Suzy Hughes battled bravely, but ultimately lost. Commiserationís to them.
The boys team, comprising Gareth Hughes, Greg & Ross Helmich and Year 10's Joseph Llama won their game against Afon Taf School. Congratulations !
On Wednesday, the Greenhill School Year 8 & 9 tennis team took on Tasker Milward School. Playing from Year 8 were: Luke and Craig Guymer, Nicky Cope, Adam Ball, Jonathan Walker and Eddy Winn-Jones. Year 9 yielded: Owen Evans, Craig Adams, Ben Hughes, Dan Cope, Dan Rowell, Liam Robson and Jack Worley. Results of these games to follow in the next edition of Newyddion Greenhill News.
Library Quiz
Today's lunch-time (Friday, May 25) will see an eager set of quiz enthusiasts gather in the School Library for the latest Library Quiz. Questions will range from history to hot gossip, mathematics to music. Teams of up to four people are invited to enter, what is sure to be a fun, but challenging, test of knowledge. Results will follow in the next edition of Newyddion Greenhill News.
PTA
There will be a PTA meeting in the Headmaster's Office on Tuesday, June 5 at 7.30pm. New members are always welcome to attend so please come along if you'd would like to get involved!
