CONFERENCE
The council for education in world citizenship organised two national conferences this year. Dyffryn Taf was lucky enough to have five Year 12 students sponsored by Carmarthenshire to attend the four-day event at Swansea University.
The students travelled by train to Swansea, stayed at the university and had a busy and interesting schedule of talks and discussion on world issues, especially those relating to the environment and sustainable development.
Mr. Jarvis, head of upper school at Dyffryn Taf, said: "Events like these are very important for our students aiming for university; they also give students an excellent opportunity to have their say and to consider how they might make a difference in the future.
NEW SCHOOL YEAR
The headteacher, Mr. Robert Newsome, has welcomed all pupils back to the school for what will be a very busy term. Preparations are already underway for the Christmas production and numerous sporting and social extra curricular activities are also available.
There is also a warm welcome to the public, especially those who are considering sending their young children to Dyffryn Taf, to join us for our Open Evening on Thursday, October 23.
