Following more Covid restrictions being liftedin Wales, change has come to Tenby Library.
The facility no longer need to collect contact information for TTP, so there is no need to wait at the entrance any more.
The one way system has gone, so users are free to wander as they please among the shelves, using the same door to enter and leave.
Face coverings are now optional in the library itself, although the current regulations require that face coverings are worn in the rest of the building i.e. in the hallway from the main entrance to the library, or when accessing the toilet.
There is no need to maintain 2m social distancing; with the libary asking people to be considerate and leave as much distance as they can, especially in confined areas such as the doorway into the library.
The layout inside has reverted back to pre-lockdown - Talking Books are back near Large Print; Classics and Science Fiction/Fantasy are by the main block of computers; all the Children’s books are back together along with the seating and beanbags; and New Fiction is near the main desk. There are some minor changes in Non-Fiction too.
The table is back, with chairs too!
Baby Rhyme Time is coming back from Monday (March 14), between 10.30-and 11 am. It is a drop-in session, no need to book but do phone if you have any queries.
All six public computers are now back available for use, up from the three the facility had to maintain social distancing.
Last, but definitely not least, from Friday, April 1 Pembrokeshire Libraries are re-introducing fees for overdue items, reservations and for borrowing Talking Books.
Overdues are charged at 15p (the concessionary rate is 10p) per item per day that the library is open; reservations are £1.30 (90p) per item; Talking Books are charged at £2 (£1.35).
If you think you are eligible for the concessionary rate, please talk to a member of staff to make sure your account details are correct.
Some things remain unchanged - with the libary keeping the Perspex screen around the counter.
The computer keyboards have clear covers; and computer equipment will continue to be sanitizes after use. Hand sanitiser is freely available at the library entrance.
The library is still cash-only for all transactions.
If you need food waste bags the library can provide them, and also have a small supply of grey food waste caddies, green food waste bins, red (plastic and cans) and blue (cardboard) recycling bags, blue lidded boxes for paper and the green recycling boxes for glass.
Please be ready to provide the address and postcode of the property for the recycling equipment.
The facility no longer have orange bags for mixed recycling; and do not hold grey bags for general waste at all.
If you need more grey bags, please contact the Council on 01437 764551 between Monday and Friday from 9 am to 5 pm.
