Sir,
Happy New Year from all of us at the Rescue Centre. As most of you are aware, we moved into new shop premises at the Market last February. It is only small, but it serves our purpose.
The year has been reasonably good. People have at least listened to our advice and that of other welfare organisations and are having their animals neutered or spayed. Consequently, we have only had 46 puppies and 17 kittens in during the year - a big drop on the previous year.
The older, more mature animals are on the up, but of course that is a sign of the times. We have cut down to three kennels now; two large, one medium. My bones are getting older, and after 29 years of running the centre, I have to cut down a bit.
We continue to help the police and dog pound over weekends and evenings as there are no other facilities for them during off duty hours. We still cover vet bills for pets injured in road accidents and we continue to help needy people with neutering pets.
Thank you to all those people who always support us. Bless you all.
Maureen Ward,
Tenby Animal Rescue Centre,
The Glebe, Tenby.
