TAFF KIDS

Three children from Templeton School took part in the Taff Kids challenge on Friday.

The event, organised by Activity Wales Events, saw the children take part in a dip in the sea and a run on the beach before crossing the line to be presented with a medal.

All three said they really enjoyed the experience and it was exciting to be part of the Long Course Weekend.

PEMBROKESHIRE PROM

Children from Templeton School took part in the Pembrokeshire Prom concert on Friday night.

The children had a long day rehearsing with children from lots of other Pembrokeshire schools before performing together in the concert that evening.

The children have asked that we say a special thank you to the Peripatetic music teachers who come to school to teach them and who also accompanied them on the buses to the venue.

STEM

Templeton Tekniks Tredeml competed in the Lego Challenge which was part of the STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) Festival held at the Bridge Innovation Centre, Pembroke Dock, on Saturday.

Using Lego Mindstorms technology, the children built and programmed a robot to be able to follow black lines, reverse into and park in a parking bay, and identify and hit a red ball among other tasks.

They also designed a robot capable of distinguishing between red objects (to be collected) and blue objects (to be discarded).

The children, all Year 5 and 6 pupils at Templeton CP School were delighted to be able to return with the awards for overall winning team, most original, innovative and structurally sound robot and best presentation. Well done to all involved.
