Recently, children from Templeton School travelled to Bradford to attend the Co-operative Young Film-Maker Film Festival. This took place at the National Media Museum in Bradford.
Two of the children's animated films were chosen to be screened at this festival. Parents, children (some of whom had gone on to Year 7 in Whitland secondary school) and their class teacher, Ms. Sheila Furniss, made the long and difficult journey by train to Bradford.
During their stay, the children attended workshops, met the Coronation Street star Danny Young, and were presented with a t-shirt and their certificates for achieving such a high standard in their film-making.
The children are pictured here, after their films had been screened.
The films were entitled 'Find One - Lose Another' and 'Rejected'. They were both made as part of a class activity when all the children made their films in groups.
The school is very grateful for the support of Narberth and Whitland Rotary Club and Templeton Community Association who donated money to allow the group to travel to Bradford.
Christmas celebrations
Last Wednesday and Thursday, Templeton School held its annual Christmas celebration. The hall was full on both occasions. The school is grateful for the money provided by the PTA over the year which allows them to let all the parents in for free to see their children perform.
A wide selection of musical items was performed, followed by the Oak Class Nativity. Sycamore Class then performed a number of items, culminating in Rap yr Eira; Willow class performed their items, which included 'When a Child is Born'. Rowan and Willow classes joined together to sing 'Ser y nosy n gwennu' and Rowan class performed a very tuneful 'Madonna and Child' as one of their items.
The school would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who attended and to wish everyone a merry Christmas and happy New Year.
