Class 4 pupils used their own initiative and raised £80 for CAFOD in the run-up to Christmas by organising four different colouring and wordsearch competitions throughout the school at 20p a go. Pupils even encouraged staff to enter in their own category!

CAFOD, which is the official overseas development and relief agency of the Catholic Church in England and Wales, seeks to tackle the causes of poverty and injustice in the world.

Pupils have used their cash to purchase CAFOD gifts of fresh water, a vegetable garden, an emergency relief survival kit, including materials for making a shelter and cooking pots and utensils, chickens, and a school starter pack that will provide school fees, uniforms, pens books and daily meals for poor children to attend school in the developing world.
