It was a week of awards as presentations were made in assembly. Geraint Harries brought in his trophy awarded to him for playing for Pembroke Rugby Club Under 10s team, and not to be outdone, his sister Tia brought in her trophy and also the Sportsman of the Year Cup she won for the improvement in her rugby skills during the last year playing for the Under 8s team. Tom Arnold brought in his silver plate awarded to him for coming second in the seven-nine-year-old age group of the Bryes Climbing Competition. His achievement has earned him a place on the Welsh Climbing Team and he will now go on to compete in the British Championship. The School Stamp Club brought in a host of certificates and ribbons as they showed off their achievements at the recent Stampex Competition held in London. The individual entries were of such a high standard that it earned the school the Schools Trophy for the highest achieving school in Great Britain. Individual entries were: David Folder (Under 9s) won a Silver Gilt for his entry 'Birds of a Feather'; Shane Edwards (Under 9s) won a Silver for his entry 'Children's Entertainment'; Ben Andrews (Under 9s) won a Silver Gilt for his entry 'The Voyages of Charles Darwin'; Jessica Webb (10-11 years) won a Silver Bronze for her entry 'Football History'; Hazel Scourfield (10-11 years) won a Silver for her entry 'Animals in the British Isles'; Jacqs Scourfield (10 -11 years) won a Silver for her entry 'First Class Post' and a Silver Gilt for her entry 'My Childhood in Stamps'. Jacqs's entry, 'My Childhood in Stamps', was judged the best in her age group and she was awarded the Class C Cup. All the awards were presented at a special awards night hosted by the Haverfordwest Philatelic Society, where Jacqs was presented with a framed Tuppenny Blue stamp for her achievements.
