A team of seven swimmers from Pembroke Dock Community Dock took part in a gala at Fishguard Leisure Centre recently. All of our swimmers swam in a variety races, ranging from nine metres with a float to swimming unaided for 50 metres, with everyone coming in the top three, which was a wonderful achievement.

The results were as follows: Jamie Bailie 1st in 25m backstroke and 2nd in 25m freestyle; Joshua Miles 3rd in 25m freestyle; Thomas Hawkins 2nd in both the 25m backstroke and 50m backstroke; Nadja VonHoff 1st in the 9m freestyle and 9m with float; Rhys Morris 2nd in 9m freestyle; Lewis Edwards 2nd in 9m with float and Calvin Sladden 1st in the 9m race with float.

The pictures shows the children at the medal ceremony in this week's school assembly.

Gymnastics success

Eight gymnasts from Pembroke Dock Community School recently took part in the Rotary Gymnastics Competition at Fishguard Leisure Centre.

The competition had three parts - floor, vault and bench. The pupils ranged in age from Yr 2 to Yr 6 and took part in different categories.

KS2 pupils, Joshua Miles and Ffion Hobbs were placed second and third overall, respectively, in Bronze Level, Category 1. There were 26 pupils in this category, so this was a fabulous achievement.

Yr 3 pupil Lewis Edwards was also placed third in the floor section.

The success continued with younger pupils in Category 2, Millie James (second overall in the Bronze Foundation Phase) and Jenna Laugharne (first overall in the Silver Foundation Phase), who also represented the school at the National Final at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff, on Wednesday.
