NEW SCHOOL STEPS OUT FOR WATERAID

Among the Pembrokeshire groups walking various sections of the coastal path in aid of the charity WaterAid were pupils and staff of Castle School, Cresselly, which recently became the county's newest school.

The Castle School group also included families and friends as well as a few pet dogs on the picturesque four-mile walk from Saundersfoot to Amroth.

Coast Along for WaterAid is aimed at raising funds to provide clean drinking water, toilets and hygiene education for some of the world's poorest people in Africa and Asia.

"We were delighted to be asked to take part," said Castle School principal, Mrs. Harriet Harrison.

"At the end of only our first full week, it gave us the chance to get together to strengthen the family ethos of the school while helping a really important cause."

Encouraged by this first response, organisers of this nationwide event hope it will become an annual feature in the Welsh calendar and Castle School are aiming to keep the walk on their list of outdoor, adventurous activities.
