The Cubs visited the lifeboat station in Tenby recently. They travelled to Tenby by train and walked to the lifeboat station where they had a talk, with slides, by Mr. David Rees, and were lucky to be shown around and allowed on the lifeboat. The Cubs enjoyed sitting on the seats pretending to go out to sea!
After the visit, they went to Fecci's for chips. Their thanks go to everyone who helped. Cubs this term have earned their Swimming 1, Communication, Scientist and Chef badges.
For St. David's Day, they enjoyed a bowl of cawl and Welsh cakes which they made. They were joined by Narberth Cubs and Pat Parkhurst, the AAC for Cubs. Their swimming badges were done at Narberth swimming pool, and their thanks go to the staff there.
Eight Cubs took part in the swimming gala held in Fishguard. They were Brittany, Holly, Josie and Ben for the 10-year-olds, and Frankie, Jay, Tao and Lisa, who swam for the nine-year-olds. Well done to you all.
The group has welcomed a few new Cubs this term, with four of them swimming up from Beavers - Georgia, Jake, Tom and Max.
Beavers have earned their Imagination Badge this term and have nearly completed the Air Activity Badge; they just need to visit the Control Tower at Carew. Their numbers are growing and they have invested six new Beavers this term.
Scouts have been busy this term, too, working on their IT badge and first aid. Their thanks go to Stepaside School for allowing them to use the school one evening for IT and thanks to Malcolm Coles who demonstrated CPR to the boys. Ben, Tom and Liam took part in the District shooting competition. Ben got the highest individual score and along with Ryan from 2nd Pembroke, they won the competition. Well done boys.
As part of their Fire Safety Badge, the Scouts visited Tenby Fire Station and all had a great time. In the summer term, the Scouts are planning two big camps, the Malvern Challenge and the All Wales Camp.
For all sections, they have a St. George's Day Parade in Tenby on April 20, meeting at 2.15 pm at the railway station and a service in St. Mary's Church at 3 pm. It is hoped to have all members there.
There was a successful bag-packing day on Easter Saturday. Their thanks go to the Co-op for allowing them to do this, as it helps their funds greatly.
Numbers are growing in Kilgetty and the group is looking for more helpers or leaders. If there is anyone who would be interested in helping them, they would be delighted.
