New Year celebrations are set to go off with a bang again in Tenby, thanks to one of the town centre’s public houses.
In correspondence that went before Tenby town council at their meeting on Tuesday night, Lesley Fisher licensee of Tenby House Hotel, confirmed that they would be providing the popular New Year’s Eve fireworks display again for festive revellers that enter Tudor Square at midnight to welcome in 2019.
The town council in the past has agreed to fund the insurance cost for the display, and councillors fully supported doing so again this year, with Clr. Laurence Blackhall proposing the usual £300 towards the costs, with his fellow members unanimously supporting the proposal.
“Once again, in advance, we would like to thank all those at Tenby House Hotel for the work they do in putting on the firework display, and helping those in Tenby celebrate seeing in the New Year,” he said.
