Members of the Saundersfoot Caring Association met for their annual New Year meal at the Gower Hotel last week.

The chairman, Mrs. Rosemary Hayes, welcomed everyone to the Gower Hotel and wished them a happy and successful New Year and she also expressed, on behalf of the association, very best wishes to Canon Michael Butler for his forthcoming retirement. Canon Butler was a founder member of the Caring Association when it was first formed in 1983.

Grace was said by Canon Butler and, following a delicious meal, Mrs. Hayes thanked the hotel staff for making the occasion so enjoyable and also the members for their support throughout the year.

She reminded everyone that the next Coffee Morning would be held at 10.30 am on February 11 at the Saundersfoot Sports and Social Club and that all members of the local community were welcome to come along.

Following the Christmas coffee morning in December, the annual general meeting had been held at Saundersfoot Sports and Social Club. It was reported that the accounts were still healthy, thanks in part to donations from Saundersfoot Community Council and the RAOB Kilgetty Lodge and the continued support of members at the monthly coffee mornings, many of whom donated raffle prizes.

The meeting closed with Mrs. Hayes thanking the committee for their work in the past year and Mr. Roger Stanford for making the association welcome each month at the SSSC.
