A number of Pembrokeshire people were among those recognised in the New Year Honours List.

Among them was Kefin Wakefield, from Neyland, former head of economic development at Pembrokeshire County Council. He was awarded the OBE for services to local government.

Haverfordwest businessman Malcolm Green was given an MBE for his services to the community. He was chairman of the 900 Committee, is also actively involved with Haverfordwest Rotary, the Museum Trust and recently stepped down as Master of the Gild of Freemen after 14 years.

Alice Morgan was made an MBE for services to the Girl Guides in Pembrokeshire. Mrs. Morgan, of Penycwm, has been involved with local Girl Guiding organisations for 30 years, working mainly with the Roch and Haverfordwest groups.

Meanwhile, June Rees, of Milford Haven, was made an MBE for charitable services.
