As well as welcoming in the New Year on January 1, a Sageston family have welcomed a new addition.
For baby Iwan, son of Joanne Harvey and Chris Jones, of Saunders Road, decided to make an appearance in a rather unique way.
Baby Iwan had been due on Christmas Day, so the family had spent a rather anxious festive season waiting for the patter of tiny feet.
He kept them waiting, however, until the start of the new decade.
Mum Joanne went into labour early on New Year's Day morning and the quickness of her labour resulted in partner Chris calling an ambulance to get her to hospital shortly after 8 am.
In just seven minutes, the crew were with the family and they quickly set-off for Withybush Hospital, Haverfordwest.
However, they were not long into their journey when the ambulance driver had to stop and help his paramedic colleague to deliver the baby - believe it or not, halfway across the Cleddau Bridge!
"The driver told me afterwards, he didn't have to help deliver Iwan, but catch him, the labour was so quick!" said Chris this week.
"I was following in the car so when I got to Withybush, Iwan had been born some 15 minutes before."
Chris continued: "The ambulance staff were superb and we cannot thank them enough for their kindness.
"Mum and baby are both doing fine and as far as staff at Withybush could remember there have been no babies born on the Cleddau Bridge, so Iwan could be unique."
Baby Iwan weighed-in at 7lb 14 oz and is a little brother for 20-month-old Rhys.
