A new bespoke public toilet has opened in Saundersfoot

The new facility has been installed in the Regency car park by Danfo (UK) Ltd working in partnership with Pembrokeshire County Council

The building replaces an old facility that was demolished to make way for the state-of-the-art toilet.

The previous structure suffered from anti-social behaviour and on-going maintenance issues which meant the facilities were often unavailable for the public to use.

The new building was manufactured in Sweden and transported to Saundersfoot in May.

Danfo (UK) Ltd was conscious that any replacement of the old building would need to enhance the area and, as a result, the new building is clad in cedarwood.

Rowan trees have been planted on the site along with two benches installed for members of the public to use.

A timber fence has also been erected and an interpretation board is due to be installed nearby by Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority.

Set back from the roadside - as opposed to the old facility that abutted the road - the new facility provides safer access for members of the public.

There is a 20 pence charge to use the new facility. The installation signals the latest round of investment into the public toilet stock by Danfo (UK) Ltd as part of an agreement with Pembrokeshire County Council.
