One of the biggest growth industries in Wales is the creative industry. According to www.wales.com, the creative industries sector is the fastest growing in Wales with employment in this field increasing by 58 per cent between 2005 and 2013 and amazingly these figures are continuing to rise.

Sadly, at the same time we are seeing Drama and Dance departments in secondary schools having to reduce their services or close and creative arts being marginalised in primary schools.

Luckily for the young people of Pembrokeshire, one new and exciting Theatre School is bucking the trend!

Cast and Crew Performing Arts School are based right here in Pembrokeshire and are stepping in and stepping up to plug the gap in creative education.

Offering GCSE and BTEC tuition in Drama, Dance and Performing Arts for young people aged seven to 16 years, the school promises to inspire students by giving them the opportunity to be creative, gain confidence and a recognised national qualification.

The weekly workshops will run on Wednesday evenings at Pembrokeshire College and will allow students to get creative, embrace their talents, become self-disciplined and learn essential vocational skills.

Suitable for beginners and those with more experience, there are traditional performance classes (seven years plus) followed by exam classes where students of 11 years plus can work towards qualifications. This exciting combination offers win-win opportunities to young people - have fun, learn new skills, meet new people and gain a BTEC or GCSE.

Courses begin on Wednesday, January 17, with a taster session being held this Sunday, January 14. For more information, visit castandcrewperformingarts.co.uk or call 01834 218495.
