The Greenway Nursery is a newly-established small, independent business in Pembrokeshire, situated between the two towns of Pembroke and Pembroke Dock.
The nursery was established in 2014 by Kinga, who has made Pembrokeshire her home for the last 13 years.
Kinga, who is fully qualified with a Master of Science Degree in Horticulture and also experienced in both practical horticulture and delivering horticulture courses, asked her former highly experienced colleague Oliver to work with her to bring the previously named Bush School Nursery back to life.
“We are both absolutely crazy about plants, they have been our passion for years, we both like to propagate plants and experiment with unusual varieties,” she said.
“ Whether you are green-fingered, experienced or a beginner, we want the nursery to be a place where you can buy quality, healthy plants and get professional advice to help you to succeed.
“If you are having a problem with your garden, please pop in and tell us. If we don’t have an answer straightaway, we will try to find out!”
Although quite new, the Greenway already offers a great range of shrubs, fruit trees, perennials, alpines, bedding plants and soft fruit bushes, as well as a small but continuously growing range of gardening sundries and quality compost.
“We also sell quality, fresh Christmas trees and handmade wreaths throughout the festive season,” said Kinga.
“The majority of our plants are British grown, our large herbs and alpines are grown in Pembrokeshire and are peat-free. We source many of the young perennial and bedding plants, but we grow them on on-site to make sure they are suited to the Pembrokeshire climate.
“You might not get instant colour, but you will get healthy plants that will flower whenever they are ready.
“We strongly support ‘Grow Your Own’, you can buy a variety of vegetable plants grown from seeds on site and we don’t use any pesticides during our production.
“Come and visit us, have a stroll around looking for inspiration or sit down alfresco at the Green Kettle Café to enjoy homemade food and locally roasted coffee.”
The Greenway is open seven-days-a-week through the spring and summer; Monday to Saturday between 9 am and 5 pm, and from 10 am ’til 4 pm on Sundays.
“As we are still growing and we might change our opening times in the quieter months, please check our Facebook page for any updates, or give us a ring,” said Kinga.
The Green Kettle is open Wednesday to Saturday between 11 am and 3 pm.
On April 23, the nursery held an ‘open day’ to celebrate its first birthday.
Supported by Charles Warner from Grown In Wales Herbs and Ornamental Plants and The Green Kettle Café, it was a great day.
“We would also like to say thank you to all our customers who have supported us in the past year,” said Kinga.
“Our next step is to develop our website, explore peat-free growing, expand our organic plant protection range and keep making you happy, helping you to improve your garden,” she added.
Greenway Nursery is located at the Pembroke School Grounds, Bush Gardens, Pembroke, SA71 4RJ.
