The 2011 New Year's Day Swim preparations are officially underway with the announcement by Saundersfoot Festivities of the swim's sponsors and the unveiling of the eagerly awaited 2011 swim shirt.

The event took place at the St. Brides Spa Hotel on Saturday and 'Charlie Shivers' - the swim's own mascot - welcomed the sponsors: Powells Cottage Holidays; N. D. Toy Independent Financial Advisors and Mortgage Brokers; Bluestone National Park Resort; Sunnyvale Holiday Park; Silcox Coaches; BMW Green Bower; FBM Estate Agents; Silver Strand; Chevron; Wogan Guest House; Tenby Glass; Folly Farm and Neil Finlay Cars.

Martyn Williams, chairman of Saundersfoot Festivities, said: "I am delighted with this year's sponsorship.

"The financial support is vital for the future of the swim. It will also ensure that every penny raised by the swimmers will be allocated to their nominated charities.

"The generosity which the businesses have shown towards the shirt sponsorship has been very much appreciated," he added.

Saundersfoot Festivities would also like to thank St. Brides Hotel and Spa for their generous hospitality.

The 2011 swim shirt is now on sale at Evans' Newsagents, Saundersfoot.

The shirt is again made by Kooga Rugby and just like last year, Kooga have again changed their world famous logo of 'Kooga, Made for Rugby' to 'Kooga, Made for Swims'.

Kooga have confirmed that this is the only time their logo has been changed. All profits from the shirt will be donated to charity.

The 2011 swim will be the village's 27th event. To date, the event has raised over £330,000, last year breaking all records by attracting 1,260 swimmers and raising over £33,000, which benefited 55 worthy and charitable causes.
