A site for a new primary school in Narberth is being looked into, it was revealed this week.
Speaking at Tuesday night's meeting of the Town Council, county representative Clr. David Watkins told members that he would be meeting with Pembrokeshire County Council's director of education later in the week to discuss a new site for the town's primary school.
Clr. Watkins said he was likely to be chairing a working party to find a new site for the school and following the meeting with the director he would be feeding back the information to the head and governors.
Following discussions with the county council's property management committee, Clr. Watkins explained that there were two sites within the curtilage of the town that were possible locations for a new school.
"Hopefully the new site will come about, but it will not be happening in the next two or three years," he said.
"This will be a long term project and we are looking at five to seven years, but if we do not start putting our markers down now it may never get off the pile."
